WHAT WE BELIEVE

GOD

There is but one living and true God, the maker and preserver of all things. In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are one in eternity, deity and purpose. He is everlasting and of infinite wisdom, power, goodness and loving kindness.

 THE SON

Jesus Christ the second person of the Godhead is the agent of reconciliation, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, he joined together the deity of God and the humanity of man. For us he suffered, was crucified, died and was buried. We acknowledge Him as Savior and Lord the one perfect mediator between God and man.

 THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity, he is one with the Father and the Son. Equal in deity, He is this world's only agent given to bear witness to and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the revealer and interpreter of the written word. He is the effective agent in our conviction, regeneration, sanctification and future glorification. He is our Lord's ever-present self, indwelling, assuring and enabling the believer's walk.

 THE SCRIPTURES

The Bible is God's written word, uniquely inspired by the Holy Spirit. It bears unerring witness to the Lord Jesus Christ, the living word. It is the trustworthy record of God's revelation and truthful in what it affirms. The Bible manifests authority over all people alike, and provides guidance and instruction in every avenue of human experience.

 SALVATION

Christ offered once and for all the one perfect sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. No other satisfaction for sin is necessary; none other can atone. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

WORKS

Good works are the fruit of faith in Jesus Christ but works cannot save us from our sins nor from God's judgment. Works are ultimately rewardable.

 THE CHURCH

The church is created by God; it is the people of God. Christ Jesus is its lord and head; the Holy Spirit is its life and power. The church is a fellowship of the redeemed and an institution for the preaching of the word of God and administering the ordinances to the saints, according to Christ's instruction.

 BAPTISM

Water baptism is an ordinance of the church, commanded by our Lord, as a declaration of one's faith in Jesus Christ as savior. Performed after one's coming to Christ, we believe, immersion best illustrates our lord's own death and resurrection.

 THE LORD'S SUPPER

The Lord's supper is an ordinance of our redemption by Christ's death. To those who are rightly redeemed the bread which we break is a partaking of the body of Christ; and likewise, the cup of blessing is a partaking of the blood of Christ. This is performed periodically.

 INTERPRETIVE THEOLOGY

We are dispensational in scriptural interpretation and non-charismatic in our service of worship.

Eschatologically we are pretribulational and premillennial in our expectation of the return of Christ.

We are in agreement with the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message
